Great place for food and drinks, limited ales available hence only 4 stars but its more about the meals id imagine. If you are going there for mid week afternoon dinners be aware it does get busy with retired customers.
Really enjoy the Park Gate and its offers. My family of 6 ate last night for 35 with their 2 for 1 offer as well as a 40 percent off voucher that I was emailed about. The atmosphere is nice and the staff attentive. Food lovely...it's the place to go for a family dinner. Make sure you sign up on their website as you get a free drinks voucher emailed to you.
Nice pub, staff friendly and food was great. Only reason I didn't give a 5 was because we tried to book a table for 6 but was told there want one. So only 4 of us went out for dinner. However when we arrived there were some tables next to ours which weren't reserved and empty so could have easily push a table together. Shame this let them down.
Really lovely place, the food is nice, the kids portions are a bit small but good quality and the kids like it, which is in itself amazing. The kids puddings are surprisingly large (we ordered 2 each for the kids thinking they would be small - but they are not). This has a country pub feeling but with constantly good food and a well managed set up. Sometimes during the peek hours there are no tables, but keep out of peek times and your usually OK.
Of my last 3 steaks here one was cooked well done when asked for medium and the other two were so chewy I got jaw ache! Then I visited again this week and again mine was terrible and the other 2 in our party had theirs cooked well done when they asked for medium. Shame as thus place used to good for steaks.
