Being an ex carpet worker (Brinton's) it's very interesting and well worth a visit. Sadly carpet manufacture in Kidderminster is virtually non existent.

I had a tour of this carpet museum a couple of years ago. I enjoyed it immensly. I hope that the people of Kidderminster are proud of the towns proud history in the innovation and manufacturing of highest quality carpeting that is still used in 5 star hotels and cruise ships all over the world.

Just to say how much we enjoyed our visit today. The demonstration of the looms was so interesting and very clearly explained. We also found the rest of the exhibits very informative. Will never look at a carpet in the same way again!!

The Museum is sited near the centre of Kidderminster, with a public pay and display car park 25 years away. If offers fascinating displays of carpet manufacture, and demonstrations by volunteers of hand and machine weaving techniques. Check on the Museum's website when the power looms are put into action... worth waiting for!

Standing outside by the front door, the museum building looks narrow and tiny, but as soon as you get inside it opens up into a world of woolly treasures that are well worth seeing. The museum contains two huge carpet looms that work and make the most tremendous noise. Fascinating to watch them operating and to talk with some of the many volunteers who spent their working lives employed in Kidderminster's carpet factories. There is loads for children to do here - they are very welcome and there are all sorts of activities and interactives to keep them busy. Well worth a trip to Kidderminster!
